Congratulations to all of the athletes who participated in the Donor Games Championship on Saturday, October, 2 at Affinity Athletics in Stamford, Connecticut. This was our first in-person event, and it was incredible to witness the inspiration and athleticism these competitors displayed.
Throughout the event, athletes were able to track their point total and rank on a real-time leaderboard on display throughout the gym. With the final times in place, we can now share the leaderboard with the entire Donor Games community.
Women’s Division Results
Mimi Mahon (33), who was victorious in her four previous Open competitions, continued her winning ways at the 2021 Championship. She took first place in the Donor Women category, racking up 99 total points, edging out Roni Hays (24) who came close to besting Mimi in the first two events, and took first place in the Murph with an amazing time of 46 minutes, 11 seconds.
Men’s Division Results
Garet Hil (58) narrowly won the Donor Men category after relentlessly defending against an intense challenge from Cody Maynard (25) who held early leads in both the Grace and Murph workouts. It is interesting to note that Cody dropped his Grace time in the past year by over 60%. At this rate of improvement, Cody is destined to own the top of the leaderboard soon.
Recipient Results
Samantha Hil (25), who has successfully competed in many previous opens, represented the female transplant contingent with her efforts in the championship.
Scott Claybrook (40), who won the top podium spot in the Donor Games Hawkins competition, turned in a stunning time for the Grace of 3 minutes, 44 seconds. His Murph time was a blazing 50 minutes, 18 seconds and he pulled 325 lbs on the deadlift. Scott is a tremendous role model for all transplant recipients.
General Division Results
Dr. Shelby Donahue (31) won the General Women category with 97 total points, with a time of 2 minutes, 26 seconds for the Grace, 35 minutes, 44 seconds for the Murph and 375 lbs. for the deadlift.
