Athlete Profile: Roni Hays

Roni grew up cheering. She cheered competitively and did football cheer in middle school and high school. In college, where she was a strength and conditioning minor, she started working out on her own. One of her friends introduced her to CrossFit in 2018 and she’s never looked back. Her first Donor Games competition was the Mini Murph in 2021 and she has been consistently at the top of the leaderboard ever since. It’s become a special community that she loves to be a part of.

Donor Story: Roni donated her kidney to her mom in May 2019, after her mom was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that led to kidney failure. Roni was a match, and donated at age 22, within a month of being approved.

Personal: Roni is from Franklin, Tennessee. In 2025, she moved back to the area after being away from her family for five years. She now lives in Spring Hill, Tennessee, near her two sisters and their families and her parents. She is a physical therapist in Franklin at a skilled nursing facility and loves her job!
