Announcing the Winners of the Donor Games 2025 Championship

Congratulations to all the athletes who participated in the Donor Games 2025 Championship last Saturday. We had 20 top athletes from around the country competing. The competitive intensity was at a level that we have never seen before, with many of the finishing times separated by just a few seconds or a few reps.

Men’s Division Results

Heading into the final event, the Men’s Division was completely up for grabs, with four athletes separated by a point or less. After Justin King’s stellar performance in the Rudder, he found himself tied for the lead with rookie Eric Walano, while Games veteran Garet Hil and liver donor Blair Casey sat just 1 point below. In the final workout (Super Murph), Eric crushed it, putting up a staggering 500 reps and locking down first place.

Garet, the 2021 Men’s Champion, captured second place overall by coming in second in the Super Murph with 406 reps, just edging out Justin, who achieved 391 reps in the Super Murph, clinching third place. Blair, who decisively won the first event (Overhead Press), took fourth place overall with a score of 355 in the Super Murph. Brandon Cullen’s top three finishes in two events earned him fifth place.

Women’s Division Results

Heading into the 2025 Donor Games Championship, the big question was: “Can anyone beat Mimi Mahon?” For the first time, several contenders appeared to have the firepower to challenge the four-time defending champion.

Despite the deep field and several world-class performances, Mimi remained composed and on top of her game. She opened with a commanding 20 reps to win the Overhead Press. She then secured two second-place finishes in the next events to capture a fifth consecutive Donor Games Championship title, answering that initial question with a resounding “No”—at least for this year.

Courtney Cox and Danielle Fiorito tied for second place. Danielle, a dialysis patient currently seeking a kidney transplant, inspired everyone with her grit and determination. Courtney saved her best for last with an astounding 495 reps in the Super Murph. Roni Hays, Emmy Spencer Probasco, and transplant recipient Abigail Beckman-Green finished in a three-way tie for fourth place. All three left everything on the floor, highlighted by Abigail, who recently won five gold medals in swimming events at the World Transplant Games in Germany, winning the Rudder event with the fastest time of the day, 7:17, beating all the men.

This year’s Donor Games Championship saw a dramatic rise in competitiveness, driven largely by first-time Championship athletes. In the Women’s Division, newcomers Courtney, Danielle, Abigail, and Emmy all earned podium spots, while newcomers in the Men’s Division were headlined by powerful performances from Eric and Blair.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all participants for continuing to demonstrate the amazing health and fitness of living donors and transplant recipients. For more on the 2025 Championship, please visit the Donor Games website.
