Super Murph 2022 Open

Competitors must perform five (5) rounds each of the following exercises:

  • 10 pull-ups
  • 20 hand release push-ups
  • 30 air squats
  • 40 sit-ups

Athletes must complete the workout within a one (1) hour time cap.


Registration for the Super Murph 2022 Open will open on March 1, 2022. Registration is $5 per competitor. The registration deadline is March 29, 2022, and the competition will take place April 6 through April 13, 2022. Workout Rules

To be considered for the podium and cash prizes, all competitors in the Super Murph 2022 Open must adhere to the following rules for the workout:

  • Pull-ups: Strict, butterfly and kipping pull-ups are all acceptable variations. Palms must face outward, chin must clear the bar at the top of each pull-up, and arms must be fully extended at the bottom of each pull-up. Banded pull-ups are acceptable with a weight assistance of no more than 70 pounds, but your finish time will be placed after other competitors who performed the move unassisted.
  • Hand release push-ups: Hands must lift completely off the ground at the bottom of each push-up, and arms must be fully extended at the top of each push-up. The athlete’s feet must remain on the ground, and be less than or equal to shoulder width apart in distance.
  • Air squats: Competitors must perform a full squat with the upper leg parallel to the floor at the bottom of the squat. Athletes must rise to their full standing height, and demonstrate a lockout with both knees on every rep.
  • Sit-ups: Must be performed with the feet secured, back flat, and arms crossed over the chest. Shoulder blades must touch the ground at the bottom of each sit-up, and both elbows must touch the legs within 4 inches of the kneecaps at the top of each sit-up. Butt cannot come off the ground at any point during the sit-up.

Competitors must perform the workout in order and within the time limit of one (1) hour.

Competition Rules

Registered athletes agree to and will comply with the following rules related to the Donor Games Open competition format.

    • All athletes must be 18 years or older as of the close of registration for the competition.
    • All athletes must agree to the Donor Games Consent Agreement and adhere to the Workout Rules and Competition Rules herein.
    • Athletes are strongly advised to submit a sample workout video at any time during the sample workout window.
      • Athletes who do not submit a sample workout video run a higher risk of having their full workout video rejected by the judges for issues with form.
    • Athletes must submit their full workout video at any time during the competition window.
    • Athletes may submit more than one workout video to improve their standings on the leaderboard. Competitors may submit no more than ONE (1) video within any 24-hour period.
    • Athletes must be willing to accept prize winnings via ACH payment from the National Kidney Registry. Failure to provide ACH payment information within three (3) weeks of official prize-winning notification from the Donor Games will result in forfeiture of cash prize. All prize winnings will be dispersed within 3 weeks of provision of athlete’s ACH information to the NKR.
    • Judges will pay close attention to exercise form to ensure every movement conforms to the Workout Rules and video instructions for the Open workout. Failure to perform a movement or exercise according to the guidelines could result in disqualification.
    • Judges may reject an athlete’s workout video due to: (a) improper form; (b) failure to complete the workout; (c) copyright infringements; or (d) any other issues that arise in review of the workout.
      • If a workout video is rejected, the competitor is allowed to submit a new competition workout video at any time during the competition window.
      • If no new video is submitted before the extended deadline, the competitor is disqualified.
    • All workout videos submitted for the Open will be uploaded to YouTube and included on the competition leaderboard.
      • Sample videos submitted by 4 pm will be available to the public by 12 pm on the following day (subject to judges’ approval).
      • Workout videos submitted by 4 pm will be available to the public by 8 am on the following day (subject to judges’ approval).
      • Judges’ decisions are final as they relate to official time, weight, reps for each athlete’s workout.
